TikTok is partnering with the Elton John AIDS Foundation to mark World AIDS Day on December 1st.
The campaign kicks off on Friday with an HIV / AIDS education and awareness quiz to test TikTok users' knowledge of the disease and educate them about prevention and their own sexual health.
On World AIDS Day, a live event will be broadcast on John's TikTok channel at 7 p.m. GMT / 2 p.m. ET, hosted by Reggie Yates and with David Furnish and John, along with TikTok stars and celebrity guests.
Sam Fender, Rina Sawayama and Sam Smith will also perform.
Viewers can access donation stickers to raise funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
John said in a TikTok blog post on Tuesday, "I'm very excited to be recognizing World AIDS Day with TikTok and my foundation this year to celebrate the progress we've made and to highlight what we do can do together to end the AIDS epidemic. " HIV seems to be a disease of the past, especially with Covid-19 making the headlines, but it still affects everyone. We all need to take care of HIV and end the discrimination related to this disease. Our TikTok Live is a great lineup for shedding the myths surrounding HIV, talking about safe sex, and making sure young people know how to protect themselves and others. "
