After acquiring a variety of web hosting companies this year, mainly from the Netherlands, Total Webhosting Solutions (TWS) has acquired yet another web hosting company from the Netherlands. This his time they’ve bought Vevida – located in Groningen and founded in 1997. It is one of the bigger Dutch web hosting providers. It will partner with SoHosted, another TWS brand which is also located in the northern part of the Netherlands.
Vevida offers domain name registration and webhosting services for over 50.000 customers. SoHosted, located in Drachten, offers cloud services, web hosting, and domain name registration services for over 15 years. By joining TWS and joining forces with SoHosted, located nearby, TWS is convinced that a strong regional player is created.
“Since SoHosted joined TWS, we have made tremendous improvements within our organization and our platform. We are convinced that we can add similar value to Vevida, and we are excited to bring Vevida to the next level as the newest member within the TWS family,” said René de Haas, CEO of web hosting company SoHosted.
The combination of SoHosted en Vevida would lead to higher economies of scale and simultaneously enable further product diversification. It would help improve Vevida’s current service offering to SMEs and better aid them in achieving their online ambitions. Aditionally, Vevida and its customers would benefit from access to knowledge and best practices shared within the TWS group.
“After 23 years, the time has come for Vevida’s next step, and this coincides with my next step as entrepreneur,” said Jan Vlastuin, CEO of Vevida. “The web hosting market is developing and consolidating rapidly. Joining the largest player with a strategic, long-term focus was required to safeguard a competitive product offering for Vevida in the future. As the opportunity to join TWS presented itself, I felt this was the best opportunity for Vevida to improve and expand the current service offering, together with SoHosted. I know that Vevida’s customers are in good hands with TWS, as they will continue the current service level and quality, which was an important reason for choosing TWS.”
“We know that there is a good fit between Vevida’s and Sohosted’s company culture,” said René de Haas, CEO of web hosting company SoHosted. “This fit also applies to the customer base and systems in use that are essential to Vevida’s customers. Since SoHosted joined TWS, we have made tremendous improvements within our organization and our platform. We are convinced that we can add similar value to Vevida, and we are excited to bring Vevida to the next level as the newest member within the TWS family. On top of that, we can further focus our services on SMEs in the region, aiding in improving our customers’ online presence through a personalized approach in service.”
TWS would provide financial security, strategic guidance, and best practices for its family of web hosting brands. Other examples of companies that operate under the umbrella of TWS include Yourhosting, Versio, PC Extreme, RealHosting, De Heeg, Savvii, Provider, Neostrada, QDC, IPS, Reviced Cloud Services, MageHost, Skyberate, and Axarnet Group.
“TWS’ ecosystem lets companies and their founders maintain a level of customer intimacy and personalized service,” said Matthieu van Amerongen, CEO of TWS. “At the same time, in-house knowledge is shared with all members within the TWS group, with the sole purpose to have us all learn and improve. For instance, our size allows for significant investment in infrastructure improvements that smaller players cannot make. For us, these are the basics on which we build a better solution for our customers that requires less of their attention and ensure our relationships will last for many years to come. I am convinced that Vevida as well as Sohosted will benefit from this intensive partnership.”
