Waze launched an initiative to include more information about small and medium-sized businesses in its navigation application before Small Business Saturday, November 28th.
SMB owners can fill out this form and provide the company's address, contact details, opening times and pick-up options.
This information is then added to the Waze map by the volunteer community of more than 500,000 map editors.
Waze users have access to the most up-to-date information about the stores to encourage them to shop locally.
The initiative runs until January 7, 2021.
Dani Simons, Head of Public Sector Partnerships at Waze, said in a statement: “We know that small businesses have been hit really hard this year as a result of the pandemic. Earlier this year, we introduced location badges to show local businesses whether they have driveway and contactless pickup available, and to allow drivers to safely collect their groceries or take-away. With the Small Business Saturday and the holiday season in mind, we wanted to make it even easier for drivers to reach these locations and support the economy with local purchases. "
